President Yoweri Kauta Museveni is expected to address the nation on Sunday 6th June at 8pm about the new steps the National Taskforce on covid 19 has decided to take to curb down the pandemic.
The president’s last address about the Covid 19 pandemic came last month on 29th May. In his previous address, most people expected the President to declare a second and tougher lockdown a thing he did not do.
He however urged the citizens to observe the old SOP’s in place because the new wave is spreading like a wild fire and more deadly. The President however said he would return towards the end of this week to give another update the experts have designed.
It is not known what the President will air out on Sunday as the pandemic has continued to rise amongst Ugandans. It is however important to note that people are now embracing vaccination against the virus.
There are so far 48, 676 confirmed covid 19 cases among Ugandans only with a cumulative recovery of 46,150. The samples tested are 1,119,023 and those who have been vaccinated stand at 672,395 Ugandans according to the ministry of health statistics.
There is also a rumor that the Central districts of Kampala,Wakiso, Mukono and some districts from the North could be quarantined. These have recorded the highest risks of the virus which has even eaten into learner’s.
