City Pastor, Pr. Franklin Mondo Mugisha and Presidential Advisor have this morning appeared before the State House Anti Corruption Unit to make statements for allegedly defrauding over Shs5 billion from pastors. The two are accused along with Pastor Sirajje Ssemanda of Bombo Revival Church.
Pastors under an umbrella organization, Hands Across the World, told the State House Anti Corruption Unit Head Lt Col Edith Nakalema on Saturday, 14th November, 2020, that Kusasira, Mondo and Sirajje solicited from them over Shs5 billion while promising them scholarships, trips abroad and connecting them to Operation Wealth Creation funds as well as meeting President Yoweri Museveni.
The accomplices have been using the President’s name and First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni to allegedly commit the fraud.
“They collected money from us promising to take us to Israel, pay school fees for our children as well as involving us in income-generating schemes under Operation Wealth Creation. Each one of us paid more than Shs100, 000 but since then we have never received anything,” One of the pastors told Col Nakalema.
The Head of the State House Anti Corruption Unit, Col Edith Nakalema gave the aggrieved pastors assurance that their issues would be investigated and worked upon accordingly.
“On behalf of the State House we are very sorry for what happened to you. We are going to work with the responsible authorities to ensure that justice is prevailed,” Nakalema asserted.
Pr Sirajje Ssemanda, with whom the two are accused has been remanded to Kitalya prison.
Well, for now that is all we can bring to you but we promise to keep tabs on the matter and keep you, our readers, updated on the matter.
