Ugandans on social media scoff at religious leaders over “defiant” doves

It was indeed a hilarious scene as the religious leaders tried to “force” the doves into the air while the very “uninterested” birds flew right to the ground.

Social Media went ablaze with scoffs and trolls against the religious leader who were mocked for going silent during times of tribulation and only come out to speak when it benefits them.

The religious leaders under their umbrella organization Uganda Joint Christian Council held a meeting to say prayers for the country ahead of the January 14th General Polls on Monday January 4th, 2021.

They then came out and to signal a sign of peace ahead of the election period which is slated for next week, released doves into the air, with the hope of them flying “like the Holy Spirit”.

To their dismay, the birds flew right back to the ground and started pecking off the ground a sight which was not just hilarious but caused the general public to interpreted the occurrence as a signal of the absense of peace in the country.

The prayer meeting was held at the Munyonyo Martyrs shrine was led by Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga which was concluded with the release of the birds into the air, though they never flew as it had been planned.

One of the people there was heard saying “they are comfortable here” something which sent the public into deep laughter.
