UMA is not a bunch of beggars – Bobi Wine

Musician Bobi Wine real names Robert Kyagulanyi has scoffed at leaders of Uganda Musician Association saying its an independent association but not beggers Association.

He made the remarks while meeting Muslim artists at his home over the weekend.

Bobi Wine is vaunted as one of the co-founders of UMA. When the Association started he was the general secretary while Silver Kyagulanyi was the Chairperson.

According to Bobi the Association was started to fight for the rights of all musicians across Uganda as the main reason but not to beg like the way its doing right now.

“Me as one of the co-founders of UMA, we didn’t start it to beg but we started it to fight for the rights of all artist across Uganda.

Bobi Wine said UMA has done nothing in the fight for rights of artists because some artists like Nubian Li are in prison for no reason but UMA has done nothing about it.

It should be noted that Cindy Sanyu is the current president of Uganda Musician Association [UMA].
