The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has announced a UGX 10m bounty for anyone with information that leads to the the arrest and successful prosecution of the people behind the death of six lions in Queen Elizabeth National park.

This follows the unfortunate events that occurred last week when six (6) lions where found dead with their and paws hacked off, and their bodies surrounded by dead vultures.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) said in a statement released just after the dead lions were found that it “cannot rule out illegal wildlife trafficking” and announced that an investigation had been launched, with conservationists working with local police at the scene to investigate the matter.
