National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General has revealed that the party is ready to defend the victory that it attained in the just concluded Presidential Election.
While speaking to the press on Saturday January 30th, 2021, Kasule Lumumba informed the media that the NRM was not moved by National Unity Platform’s decision to file a petition contesting the election results.
This came shortly after the National Unity Platform president and former presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine revealed that he would take to the courts of law to challenge NRM’s victory.
Kyagulanyi was runner up in the recently concluded presidential elections in which he scored 3,631,437 votes (35.08) behind NRM’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who garnered 6,042,898 votes (58.38).
Kasule Lumumba is confident that the NRM party won the election and assured all stakeholders that they are ready to defend their victory in court.
“If the National Unity Platform is ready to challenge to the National Resistance Movement’s Victory the lawyers are ready to take it on. Our lawyers are going through the declaration forms to see what is missing.”Kasule Lumumba, NRM Secretary General.
