We don’t know who or what the police is protecting Bobi Wine from – Mpuuga

National Unity Platform (NUP) vice president for Buganda region, Mathais Mpuuga, has said that they do not know what or who the security forces that have been deployed arounf NUP President, Hon Kyagulanyi’s home are protecting him from.

The newly elected Member of Parliament for the newly created Nyendo Mukungwe Constituency said that the statements from the security personnel defending their besiege of the former Presidential candidate’s home do not make sense.

Mpuuga added that, the security forces and Uganda police have cut off access to not only their president’s home but also the party offices in Kamwokya, calling it a crime scene.

“We can’t access our offices (NUP), they say it is a crime scene. Our Principal’s home is inaccessible. They say they are securing him. We don’t know from who or from what.”

Mpuuga added that the party leaders including the Party spokesperson and newly elected MP for Nakawa West , Joel Ssenyonyi as well as MP for Mityana Municipality Francis Zaake have all been barred from accessing the home of Hon. Kyagulanyi.

Mpuuga says that the party leaders and other members want to meet with their party president to discuss critical party matters and highlighted that the party will seek for court intervention into the matter to free Kyagulanyi who connot even shop for groceries.

“We want to meet Kyagulanyi to discuss our party matters. We are in court to ensure that Hon. Kyagulanyi is freed. He can’t even shop for groceries.”
