Former Forum Democratic Change President has called upon the members of the opposition to coordinate, think and work together as they move towards the common goal of liberating the country.

The four time presidential candidate believes that if people unite, work together and decide on what to do, then it wouldn’t take the “regime” even two weeks to lose grip of the power.

He stated that the fight of the opposition is not supposed to be a contestation of power and office but rather a contestation of getting the power and rights of the people back to them.

“Our struggle is not a contestation of the office. The contestation is about Ugandans getting their rights back.”

Dr Kizza Besigye, Former FDC President.

The retired army officer who has lost the presidential race four (4) times to the incumbent and former colleague, President Yoweri Museveni said the work of the opposition right now is to think of how to get the army out of power.

“How do we get out of armed rules and torture in Uganda.?? We simply have to struggle and it is a tough struggle.”

The good doctor added that the opposition often go into the election aware that they will not be announced winners even when they have surely won and that is why they declare themselves winners.

He added that the citizens should be granted their sovereignty and they should be in position to choose who should lead them freely and fairly unlike what happened in the 2021 general elections which proved that Uganda is a “military junta” that is incapable of organizing legitimate elections.

“2021 Elections confirmed that what we have in Uganda is a “military junta” that organizes elections to smear some legitimacy to themselves.”
