We will comply but defy where necessary – Mao on EC directives

Democratic Party president and their flag bearer for the forth coming Presidential Elections Norbert Mao has said that he and his comrades will comply to the Electoral Commission directives but will defy where necessary.

Mao said that they don’t want to be held responsible for spreading COVID-19 and will therefore do their level best to comply to the commission’s directives .

The Uganda Electoral Commission, in a bid to try and curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 in Uganda, banned campaign meetings and rallies in more than ten (10) districts.

The ban was informed by the fact that these particular districts and towns were considered to be registering high spread of the virus.

The districts include Mbarara, Kabarole, Luwero, Kasese, Masaka, Wakiso, Kabarole, Jinja, Kalungu, Kazo and Tororo.

Norbert Mao said that they will do their best to comply to the directives but promised to defy where need arises.
