While celebrating the International Women’s Day at Parliament, the Omoro District Woman representative, Hon Catherine Lamwaka said they are still lacking on the right of gender equality but she called on women Members of Parliament to work hand in hand to achieve it.
“We believe that when we work hand in hand as women Members of Parliament, we will achieve gender equality.” Hon Lamwaka stated.
As parliament has tried putting up some policies of gender equality, Hon Lamwaka said the parliament shouldn’t not just pass the policies but also make sure the policies passed are put in action on ground other wise gender inequality will increase.
“ Parliament has done quite enough in putting in place different policies. We should focus that these translate on the ground other wise gender inequality will increase.” Hon Lamwaka noted.
