Spice Diana has expressed disappointment with the Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS), saying the royalties she has received over the years do not match the success of her music.

The singer disclosed that the first payment she ever received from UPRS was Shs20,000, a sum she immediately returned because she considered it disrespectful.
She, however, recently received Shs1.4 million from the collection body and decided to keep it, although she insists it still falls far below what she believes she has earned.
According to Spice Diana, she accepted the latest payment because she needed the money at the time, but that did not change her opinion about the way royalties are distributed.
“I didn’t return it because the first one, which was Shs20,000, made me feel disrespected. This time I received Shs1.4 million, and although I needed the money and accepted it, I still wasn’t satisfied because I don’t think that reflects what I have generated over the last two years,” she said.
