Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has finally addressed the online debate surrounding her noticeably changed appearance, confirming that she recently underwent a cosmetic facial procedure. Her new look had sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning whether she had undergone extensive plastic surgery.
Speaking in a video shared on Tuesday night, Zari said the viral photos that fueled the criticism did not accurately reflect her appearance. According to her, the dramatic look was largely caused by a new makeup style her longtime makeup artist decided to experiment with.
She explained that the makeup technique exaggerated her facial features, making the cosmetic procedure appear more extreme than it actually was.
The mother of five admitted that she did have cosmetic work done but clarified that it was not a full facelift. Instead, she underwent a temporal lift, a less invasive procedure that focuses on lifting the area around the eyes.
Zari emphasized that a full facelift involves much more extensive surgery, while her procedure was only meant to subtly enhance her appearance.
Defending her decision, Zari said she has no regrets about improving her looks as she gets older. She maintained that she has always been naturally beautiful and described the procedure as an enhancement rather than an attempt to change her face completely.
According to Zari, cosmetic treatments that boost confidence should not be viewed negatively, insisting that she simply chose to maintain her appearance as part of the natural aging process.
