Grace Nakimera Rejects Judgment Over Her Appearance After Becoming Born Again

Gospel singer Grace Nakimera has opened up about the criticism she faced after becoming a born-again Christian, revealing that much of the backlash focused on her appearance and personal style.

The singer, who transitioned from secular music to gospel, said some people expected her to change the way she dressed and presented herself after joining the church. However, she rejected the belief that being born again requires someone to fit a particular image.

Grace explained that her faith is a personal relationship with God and should not be measured by outward appearance, including her jewellery or hairstyles.

Those who say that born-agains are supposed to look a certain way, you are not the one who made me born again. I am a born again Christian whom God loves, and He loves me the way I am. Do not judge me by my jewellery or big wigs,” she said.

The singer also criticized what she described as people pretending to be holy while judging others, saying she experienced similar treatment when she first joined the church.

When I got into the church, they judged me. They thought I was not serious, but I am not there to audition for you. Do not put me on a pedestal,” Grace added.

Nakimera encouraged people to focus on living authentic lives, loving themselves and avoiding unnecessary judgment, saying spirituality should not be used as a reason to disrespect others.
