Ugandan singer Kalifah AgaNaga has revealed that he plans to leave his children ownership of his digital streaming platforms instead of land, saying they could become a far more valuable inheritance in the future.
Speaking about the growing importance of digital revenue, AgaNaga explained that while platforms such as YouTube may not generate massive monthly earnings, consistency and patience can turn those payments into a substantial fortune over time. He believes many artists underestimate the long-term value of digital income because they focus on withdrawing the money as soon as it is paid.
“It depends on how you set up your page. It does not pay a lot of money, but over time it accumulates and becomes a significant amount. YouTube can pay you Shs1 million, Shs2 million or even Shs3 million a month, but imagine if you do not withdraw it immediately and instead let it accumulate for five years,” he said.
AgaNaga added that he has deliberately chosen not to withdraw the money he earns from digital platforms, treating it as a long-term investment for his family. He joked that instead of his children fighting over land after his retirement, he wants them to inherit and manage his digital assets.
According to the singer, if the earnings continue to accumulate over the years, the platforms could be worth billions of shillings by the time he is ready to hand them over.
