Ugandan singer Yung Mulo has expressed frustration over media publications identifying convicted criminal Aloysius Tamale as “Young Mulo,” a name that closely resembles his own stage name.
Tamale, who is also known as Young Mulo, was recently convicted alongside John Bosco Mugisha in connection with the 2019 murder of boda boda rider Derrick Muwonge in Mengo. The two were handed lengthy prison sentences following the conviction.
However, the repeated use of the alias “Young Mulo” in reports has reportedly created confusion among members of the public with some mistakenly associating the convicted criminal with the singer.
Yung Mulo is unhappy with the situation arguing that publications should clearly identify the convict by his real name Aloysius Tamale to avoid damaging his reputation and causing unnecessary confusion.
The singer has since called for greater clarity in media reporting whenever the convict’s case is being covered.
