Express FC Sign Singer Rickman Manrick Ahead of 2026/27 UPL Season

Express Football Club have signed Ugandan singer and radio presenter Derrick Ddungu, popularly known as Rickman Manrick, as they bolster their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.

Rickman is making a return to competitive football after spending several years away from the game. Before venturing into music, the 29-year-old had played for Swedish clubs Gunnilse IS and Sävedalens IF, building a football career that was later interrupted by injury.

Following the setback, Rickman turned his attention to music and established himself as a popular figure in Uganda’s entertainment industry. He has released several songs, including the hit Ebango Baliwanika, while also growing his profile as a radio presenter at 106.5 NRG Radio.

Now, the singer is set to combine his entertainment career with football once again as he joins Express FC for the new UPL campaign. His signing adds an interesting dimension to the club’s squad, with the musician returning to the sport that he pursued before his rise in Uganda’s music and media scenes.

Rickman’s return to football will be closely watched as he begins a new chapter with the Red Eagles in the 2026/27 season.
