Dax Vibez Says Bobi Wine Teaches You to Stand on Your Own

Musician Dax Vibez has praised National Unity Platform (NUP) president and singer Bobi Wine for mentoring him and his brothers to become independent thinkers who can make decisions and stand on their own.

Speaking about his relationship with Bobi Wine, whom he considers his big brother and mentor, Dax said the opposition leader has taught them the importance of independence rather than relying on him for every decision.

According to Dax, even after Bobi Wine left Uganda for the United States, the lessons he imparted continued to guide them in their personal and professional lives.

“He lets you think for yourself, but if you want advice, he’s there,” Dax Vibez said.

The singer’s remarks highlight the leadership approach he says Bobi Wine has adopted, allowing those around him to develop their own judgment while remaining available to offer guidance when needed.

Dax also weighed in on calls by some musicians urging artists to separate music from politics, arguing that Uganda’s music industry should consider itself fortunate to have produced someone who has significantly influenced the country’s political landscape.

He suggested that Bobi Wine’s transition from music to active politics has come with consequences for the wider entertainment industry, with some people allegedly attempting to undermine the sector because of his outspoken political views.

“But that comes at a cost. They will try to attack the industry to portray him (Bobi Wine) as the bad one for speaking the truth,” Dax added.
