Media personality Flavia Tumusiime has opened up about motherhood, revealing that her children are her greatest measure of success and that she no longer feels pressured to be a perfect mother.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, Flavia explained that she now defines successful parenting through the relationship she shares with her children, including their ability to communicate freely, spend time together and enjoy simple family moments.
“The evidence of my success is the fact that my kids and I sit on the same table and we talk. And I don’t feel the pressure to be a perfect Mom,” she said.
Flavia noted that her understanding of good motherhood has evolved over time. She explained that she previously felt the need to follow specific routines, remain highly organised and meet certain expectations in order to consider herself a good or perfect mother.
However, she has since come to appreciate the importance of creating a relaxed environment where she can listen to her children, play with them, joke around and share meals without feeling the need to get everything right.
“I know that might sound like nothing to you, but there’s a moment there where talking to my kids meant templates, be organized, be routined… because these are the things that make me a good mom, a perfect mom,” she explained.
“But now I have reduced it to the fact that I can listen to them, we can play, we can joke, we can share a meal.”
Her reflections highlight a shift from focusing on the expectations of perfect parenting to appreciating the everyday moments that help build a meaningful relationship between a mother and her children.
Flavia is married to sports journalist Andrew Kabuura, and together they have three sons. Their firstborn, Liam Ahabwe Kabuura, was born on April 10, 2020, while their twin boys, Enzo Kakuru Kabuura and Ethan Kato Kabuura, were born on May 19, 2023.
