Janzi Band is set to bring live music to the highly anticipated 2 Kings One Mic comedy show featuring comedians Patrick Salvado Idringi and Dr. Hillary Okello at Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday, October 23, 2026.
The event will bring together two of Uganda’s prominent comedy figures for a night of humour and entertainment, with Janzi Band and DJ Tony Wallace providing musical performances.
Dr. Mitch Egwang will host the show, which is scheduled to open its gates at 5:00 PM.
Tickets are priced at Shs80,000 for early bird access and Shs100,000 at the gate, while tables are available at Shs3 million and Shs5 million.
Tickets can be purchased through the MTN MoMo App, SafeBoda app and Fraine Supermarket outlets, among other listed promoters.
Founded in Kampala on August 27, 2009, by multi-instrumentalist Ssewa Ssewa, whose real name is James Ssewakiryanga Junior, Janzi Band is known for blending traditional Ugandan instruments with contemporary sounds.

Its musical style draws from Afro-fusion, world music, jazz and ethno-pop, incorporating instruments such as the adungu, endongo, endigidi, akogo and amadinda alongside guitars, keyboards, bass and drums.
The band is also associated with the Janzi, a 22-string, harp-like instrument developed by Ssewa Ssewa and inspired by Uganda’s traditional adungu.
Its performances combine cultural influences with modern arrangements, making it a familiar presence at festivals, corporate functions, cultural events and hotel entertainment programmes.
At 2 Kings One Mic, the band’s live performance will complement the comedy sets by Salvado, popularly known as “The Arrogant Man,” and Dr. Hillary Okello, who is known as “Africa’s Doctor of Comedy.”
The show is being promoted as a major comedy collaboration, bringing together the two performers for an evening of storytelling, punchlines and live entertainment.
