The Uganda Film Festival (UFF), powered by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), is officially back for its 13th edition, promising another exciting celebration of Uganda’s thriving film industry. Scheduled to run from 21st to 28th August 2026, the annual festival will bring together filmmakers, actors, industry professionals, government agencies, development partners, and film enthusiasts from across the country.
Recognized as Uganda’s premier film event, the Uganda Film Festival continues to champion local storytelling by providing a platform to showcase the country’s finest films while nurturing talent through professional development and industry engagement.
Throughout the week-long festival, audiences will enjoy film screenings in cinemas nationwide, giving Ugandans an opportunity to experience some of the best locally produced films on the big screen. Beyond the screenings, the festival will feature workshops, masterclasses, industry forums, and curated networking events aimed at equipping filmmakers with new skills, fostering collaboration, and strengthening Uganda’s growing creative economy.
The celebrations will culminate in a glamorous Uganda Film Festival Awards Ceremony on 28th August 2026, where outstanding filmmakers, actors, and productions will be recognized for their exceptional contributions to the country’s film industry. The awards ceremony will be held as an invitation-only event.
