Speke Resort Munyonyo and the Indian Association of Uganda are set to host the Diwali Food Festival 2026 on Sunday, November 1, at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
The festival will bring together families, friends and members of the public for a celebration of Indian cuisine, culture and the spirit of Diwali, widely known as the Festival of Lights. The event is open to everyone, with gates scheduled to open at 2:30 p.m.
Visitors will have an opportunity to sample dishes from different regions of India through a variety of food stalls. The programme will also feature shopping stalls, drinks, music and entertainment for different age groups.

Organisers have included a dedicated children’s play area, making the festival a family-friendly outing. A fireworks display is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., with fireworks also available for purchase at the venue.
Diwali is traditionally associated with light, hope and new beginnings. The festival aims to bring people together through food, cultural experiences and shared celebrations, while offering Ugandans an opportunity to experience aspects of Indian heritage.
The event is hosted by Speke Resort Munyonyo and the Indian Association of Uganda, with event management by Talent Africa Group.
Members of the public, food lovers and families are invited to attend and enjoy an afternoon and evening of food, entertainment and cultural festivities.
