Singer EeZzy has opened up about the difficult period that affected his music career after the success of his hit song Tumbiza Sound, revealing that a violent attack left him hospitalised for months and forced him to take a break from music.
EeZzy said he did not intentionally disappear from the music scene, explaining that he was attacked and seriously injured in 2021 after performing at an event.
“I did not run away. Anyone who follows me knows that in 2021, I was attacked and beaten on the head, and I underwent surgery,” EeZzy said.
The singer revealed that he spent about five months in hospital and later developed complications that required him to rest and focus on his recovery.
He said the incident was particularly frightening because the people who attacked him were not thieves, and he believes they may have been sent to harm him.
“I had gone to perform somewhere, and when I finished performing, a group of people attacked me. I do not know what prompted them, but it seemed like they had been sent,” he explained.
According to EeZzy, the attack left him struggling for about two to three years as he tried to recover physically and emotionally.
He said that learning more about the circumstances surrounding the attack later made him even more concerned about his safety and gave him a different perspective on the challenges within the music industry.
“After finding out certain things about what happened and why I was beaten, it scared me, and I realised that the industry is not easy,” he said.
EeZzy has since said he has put the difficult chapter behind him and returned his full attention to music, determined to continue with his career.
