Gloria Bugie has responded to criticism from people who accused her of embarrassing herself during the press conference for the 10 Years of Comedy Store event, which featured international stars Diamond Platnumz, The Ben and several other artists.
Addressing the criticism, the singer explained that introducing oneself is important regardless of how big an event is or how famous the people in attendance might be.
According to Gloria, even at an international event such as the Grammy Awards, artists still need to introduce themselves because not everyone will necessarily know who they are.
“Whether they know you or not, introduce yourself,” she said.
She added that even global superstar Beyoncé could introduce herself at such an event, despite her worldwide fame, because it is never guaranteed that everyone in attendance knows her.
Gloria emphasized that she did not consider her actions embarrassing in any way, explaining that she was simply introducing herself and taking advantage of an opportunity to grow her music career.
For her, such opportunities are part of putting herself out there, making connections and creating more visibility for her brand.
