Veteran entertainer Annet Nandujja has expressed concern over the growing culture of turning everything into content, saying it has encouraged disrespect, criticism, and abuse, especially among young people.

Speaking during an interview, Nandujja revealed that she is very selective about the interviews she accepts. She explained that she always seeks to know the topic in advance and avoids discussions that she feels could tarnish her reputation or go against her values.

According to the celebrated singer, the desire to create viral content has negatively influenced many young people, leading them to speak recklessly on social media without considering the consequences of their words.

Looking for content has ruined our children because everyone now talks without caring who they are criticising or abusing. According to me and my roots, I think Kabaka would be the last person I wouldn’t talk about in any disrespectful manner, but people get on social media and talk ill about him,” she said.

Nandujja argued that such behavior is damaging the current generation and weakening the values of respect that were once strongly upheld in society.

She also faulted some parents for failing to properly guide their children, saying many have allowed unrestricted access to phones and social media from a young age without teaching them responsibility.

Those children or people who abuse others on social media have parents, but they can’t even call them out and discourage it. Parents are allowing their children access to phones from day one, but this is wrong,” she added.

Nandujja believes that both parents and society have a role to play in restoring discipline and respect among young people, especially in an era where social media has become a major influence on daily life.
