Makerere University lacks papers for printing transcripts

The much fabled saying that “Ki-uganda kikyuma” is not for nothing, literally.
The Pearl of Africa is familiar with moments that provoke a brief laughter in a grim landscape.

The latest moment of levity is at Uganda’s oldest higher institution of learning, Makelele University.

The university is lacking paper materials for printing academic transcripts for graduates.
The development comes just a few days to the university’s 71st graduation ceremony that is expected to see 13,000 graduates passed out.

According to well placed sources, the university management has not procured the blank papers that are used to print out transcripts.

It means the students who are slated to graduate next week for the 2020/2021academic year will be passed out without transcripts.

Buzz Nation has learnt that printing materials are imported from the UK and will be in the country least by next week.
We shall keep you posted.
